Denny Hulme´s Formula 1 career spanned 10 seasons from 1965 to 1974. Unlike most drivers he drove for only two teams during those seasons - Jack Brabham´s Motor Racing Developments and

Having arrived in Europe in 1960 Hulme started touring the European race tracks in Formula Junior and Formula 2 in a Cooper together with fellow countryman George Lawson. Lawson tragically lost his life at the Roskilde Ring in Denmark in the same year, but Hulme carried on and got regular drives for both Ken Tyrrell and Jack Brabham. While working as a mechanic Hulme became team leader of Brabham´s Formula Junior team in 1963 and won six of the seasons 14 races missing the championship by just one point. In the 1964 Tasman series Hulme took victory at Levin and finished second in the New Zealand Grand Prix. |

Back in Europe Denny took two wins for Brabham in Formula 2 the same year - at Clermont Ferrand in France - amazingly with a broken steering wheel - and at Zolder in Belgium. |

Hulme got his Formula 1 debut in 1964 - in the non-championship race ``Kanonloppet" at the Swedish venue Karlskoga, driving a 1,5 liter Brabham. |
